Pantomime Fairy Tales
Posted by Alyson CahillSixth grade drama students put on a brief, yet fantastic, presentation this past Wednesday during Performing Arts period. For the past few weeks the sixth graders have been learning the art of pantomime, during which an actor expresses specific emotions, gestures, and actions but uses no words. Working in small groups, they put together scenes from popular fairy tales and performed them using only their bodies and facial expressions! Kindergartners and sixth grade chorus students came in to watch the informal performance, and the kindergarten students in particular loved seeing some of their favorite stories come to life in such a unique way. It was a fun project!
- The “Big Bad Wolf” comes to the first house!
- Our captive audience…
- He’ll huff and he’ll puff…
- Audience reaction to Snow White
