Reviewing with balónes (globos) — Tamaños y colores
Posted by Jamie BartelsMi balón es pequeño y verde
At the beginning of April, kindergarteners reviewed some of the Spanish they have learned this year that is not part of their everyday warmup. Everyday warmup covers weather, counting up to 100, and songs.
For one activity, the kindergarten students had to respond to two questions, “¿Qué color quieres?” (What color do you want?) and “¿Quieres grande o pequeño?” (Do you want big or small?). Goals that can only be achieved through use of the target language always serve as great motivators for language learners of any age, and in this class the goal was to receive a balloon of the color and size of the student’s preference.
Students were very excited to have the opportunity to blow up the balloons themselves, although in the end (and after a bit of cleaning or balloon reselection) many of them asked for a bit of extra breath to inflate the balloon to their preferred size — ¡Grande!
