“Rising Up, Back On The Street” in the Bronx! (from “Eye of The Tiger”)
Posted by Craig KnebelThe seventh grade travelled to the Bronx Zoo to wrap up a unit on genetic evolution and natural selection. Students attended a robust presentation on adaptations of predators and prey by zoo naturals. They then took an animal behaviors tour in the zoo focussing again on adaptations and finished with a rare tiger training demonstration by Mr. Knebel’s zookeeper niece who works at the zoo training wild tigers to follow directions. This training helps reduce boredom in the cats, and gives them a red meat treat.
