Slope-Intercept Form!
Posted by colleenjacquesAlgebra students have been studying Linear Functions. They have explored 3 methods for graphing linear functions including making a table, x/y intercepts and the slope-intercept method. They practiced manipulating equations to be in the form y=mx+ b incorporating rules for negative numbers and their knowledge of plotting ordered pairs. They identified the characteristics of linear functions which make them have a positive, negative, undefined slope or no slope. Students participated in a culminating activity in which they graphed five different linear functions on the same graph and make posters in groups to highlight key vocabulary studied during our unit. They are doing a great job!
