Sparking Creativity

Students in sixth grade have been talking about song-writing in class. We were feeling “stuck” with what to write music about when we thought of a great idea – why not use the minds of the PreK-4 students to help spark our creativity?! The two classes joined together to create their own original songs about Halloween. It was a great success. The sixth grade students helped the PreK-4 students put their wonderful imaginations and ideas to music. We then performed the songs for one another. There was an amazing feeling of pride and accomplishment with each group’s pieces.
