Student Docent Tours of The Aldrich
Posted by Krissy PondenStudents in 8B led the fourth, fifth, and remaining eighth graders on tours of The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum after completing their four weeks of docent training. The Student Docents asked questions of their peers while viewing the museum’s current exhibitions including Jenny Dubnau, James Esber, Hope Gangloff, Thilo Hoffman, Robert Taplin, and Timothy White. Additionally, the students worked on a group hands-on activity related to KAWS’ Companion sculpture and Dubnau’s striking photographically-painted portraits. As the current theme of the museum is related to portraiture and identity, the students were asked to create their own character inspired by the shapes, gestures, and colors around them. The tours were once again a great success, and it is always a pleasure to be involved in one of the Student Docent’s conversations about the art.
