This Summer’s Projects Are Full Speed Ahead!
Posted by Kate HavilandWe are meeting regularly now with our architects and builders to finalize plans and to prepare for this summer’s major renovation of the dining room and upgrades to the kitchen. It is exciting to be deciding everything from cabinetry to lighting, flooring to countertops, technology upgrades to material for window cushions and more!
Work is scheduled to begin right after closing ceremonies and commencement in early June and will be completed before school starts in the fall.
This summer we will also complete another vital, albeit less visible, project – the installation of the remaining fire sprinklers throughout the school.
As with every phase of projects in The Campaign for Unquowa, the green light was given for this summer’s improvements only after we had the the donations “in hand” to complete them. This conservative fiscal oversight by the Board throughout the campaign means that the first three phases of projects will be accomplished without any new debt for the school. Extraordinary!
Our progress is only possible because of the genuinely overwhelming generosity of the Unquowa community. We are so grateful for the gifts and pledges from current and former families, alumni, grandparents, friends, foundations and corporate partners.
Watch for regular updates and photos throughout the summer!
And we are working hard to raise the funds for next summer’s projects…creating new performing arts spaces!
