After finding large chunks of ice on the playground each child brought a small piece back to the classroom and placed it in a bowl. They shared their thoughts about the ice. Mulch was frozen in the ice which caused some questions. What will happen to the mulch? Will the ice and mulch melt or stay the same? Will it turn to rain or snow? We discovered the ice did melt and turned to water. The mulch floated but why? Everyone is excited to see what will happen next.
