White Soccer Pulls Away Late!
Posted by Lloyd MitchellWhite Soccer played a home game thriller today on a soggy afternoon. Facing a tough Montessori the White team stepped up their game and played some of their best soccer of the season. The game began with an early strike by Montessori putting them up 1-0 on a rocket on a breakaway beating eighth grader, Patrick. The White squad quickly responded with a tally of their own and evened the score at 1-1. Two more quick goals by eighth grader Jackson and Olivia put the Unquowa squad back up 3-1. The play seesawed back and forth with more close calls, but the half ended 3-1.
The second half was just as tense as the first as Montessori climbed back into the game and tied it up 3-3 with two quick goals early in the second half. While we were down for giving up the lead, we certainly weren’t out as 3 quick goals pushed our lead back to 6-3. The game was capped off by a PK taken by eighth grader, Conner for his first goal of season. The final score was 7-3 in favor of the Unquowa squad. Our record is now 3-1 and we look forward to our next game on the road next week!
