Learning By Doing
Posted by Mary FaulknerAlmost every morning, students begin their language arts class in fifth grade by completing DOL and DOA. These are sentences which contain various grammatical or spelling errors and analogies. These quick exercises lend themselves beautifully to not only a quick way to review and learn grammar rules and analogies, but offer a moment for each student to take turns being the teacher! Also, as sentences are being corrected students learn proper editing marks as well as challenging students to articulate why changes should be made.
