In a recent math class, our third graders practiced newly acquired place value skills through a game called Place Value Dive (similar to a combination of the Memory Game and Go Fish). Students were required to determine the place value of various digits within numbers through the ten thousands and evaluate their classmates’ answers as well. It was a fun way to practice a tricky skill.
