Fourth Graders Learn About Cells
Posted by Carlene GordonWe are off to a busy start in fourth grade science. Students recently created animal cell models, and by the end of the lesson, students were able to identify the cell membrane, cytoplasm, vacuole, mitochondria and the nucleus. After completing the cells, students also discussed the function of each part. Later, our 4th graders had the opportunity to view and diagram actual cells through our classroom microscopes and transfer their knowledge from the model to the natural world.
