Taking a Closer Look at Long Island Sound
Posted by Maureen DialloThe first graders, along with second grade, traveled to the Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk. Our trip was in connection to our current first grade science unit on Long Island Sound. The students participated in a workshop that detailed the structure and function of various marine life and gave them hands-on opportunities to meet a live whelk, sea star, clam, turtle and snails. We also viewed an ocean life imax show, toured the aquarium, and had the chance to explore the various touch tanks including jellyfish and manta rays!
