Alex Chasin ’08
Posted by Kate HavilandAlex Chasin ’08 visited Unquowa recently and Mrs. Haseltine (pictured with him here) was delighted and surprised by Alex’s decision to major in math in college. She remembered that as an eighth grader, Alex felt that studying algebra was simply an imposition on his reading time. Alex explained that it wasn’t until he studied calculus that he appreciated the beauty and power of mathematics. He is in the second semester of his sophomore year at Reed College in Portland, Oregon where he is studying multi-variable calculus and linear algebra.
