Giving Thanks
Posted by Karen WilliamsonThe whole school came together to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday with a delicious feast prepared by Chef David and his team. Before the meal, a group of students offered traditional blessings from around the world in a dozen different languages spoken by their families and/or ancestors. A big thank you to our eighth graders who played host and handled all setup and serving and to our chefs who outdid themselves.
Immediately after the feast, kindergarten and fourth grade students set to work on the exciting task of loading Mr. Doug’s truck with all the food generously donated by Unquowa families to the annual food drive for the Mercy Learning Center in Bridgeport. Students delivered the donations themselves – what a wonderful way to start the season of giving!
