Las dos Fridas
Posted by Katie BrennaBefore Spring Break, students observed the artwork of Frida Kahlo as part of our study of Mexico. We took a special look at a piece called Las dos Fridas, a famous work that shows two different sides of the same person. Students were charged with creating their own piece of art depicting two different sides of their own personality. The results were creative, informative and funny! Students wrote a description of their art and shared both the artwork and the description with the class. Each student also had the opportunity to listen to their peers’ interpretations of the artwork.
