Learning about Colonial Life at the Ogden House
Posted by Iman RastiWe have been researching and learning about the Ogden Family, a typical middle-class colonial family who lived in Fairfield in the 18th century. Working with members of Fairfield Museum and History Center, our fifth graders learned how to be docents at the Ogden House. Weeks of preparation as docents culminated in an interesting project in which the fifth graders led the fourth grade through a tour of this historic house. The members of the Fairfield Museum and History Center were impressed by the outstanding performance of our student-docents, particularly complimenting them on the depth of the research they had done in preparation for their roles.
