Making Math Fun!
Posted by Faith BarbutoHow can number writing be fun? When you turn your number line into a hula skirt. Combining an end of year assessment with our fun beach day, we did just that! First, we practiced writing the numbers using the Handwriting Without Tears number formations we have been learning all year. Students were encouraged, as always, to just try their best and to refer to the number lines in their chair pockets for help. After the numbers were written, the fun began. We used number lines to measure 10 lengths of crepe paper to make our own festive hula skirts. Once our costumes were complete, we got down to dancing! Who says a 60 degree day can’t be tropical?
