My First Chinese Hopscotch is Full of Fun
Posted by Yajuan ZhangIn class, every student and teacher loves learning games. Believe it or not, learning games make learning easier and full of fun. Especially in language learning practice, learning games even engages very shy students to raise the sound of their voice to participate in the practice.
Students are even more excited when they play the learning games outside. Very naturally the fall is the best season to do so. When I first asked Mr.Doug to draw the squares on the playground, I was not quite sure how this Hopscotch game would work with Chinese learning. But after the experiment with the first grade learning the characters of hundreds, I feel so grateful for Mr. Doug’s effort and help.
From the video, you could tell how the whole class was excited to practice the characters. Actually I didn’t write down the numbers in order, which means students need to recognize the characters first. When watching students play the game, almost as a click, I realized it is such a fun and easy way for students to practice recognizing the characters while playing Hopscotch. Interesting, isn’t it?
