PreK-3 Plants Beans
Posted by Mary CurranPreK-3 planted Amethyst, French, and Yellow Wax beans in the Unquowa Garden. Students identified lettuce, peas, and carrots and enjoyed the smell of herbs by rubbing their fingers gently on mint, lemon balm, and lavender leaves. The three-year olds learned that seeds need water, air, soil, and sun in order to germinate. They explored bean pods by splitting them open to look inside. Some even tasted them! Our young scientists will be observing and tending the beans as they grow in the garden.
