Recorders!
Posted by Megan KirkThird graders were very excited to begin their recorder work in performing arts today! In third grade, students use this woodwind instrument as a tool to practice their music reading skills they have been learning in prior years. We will also learn about proper breath-work for this instrument which can translate into the technique students will need if they decide to explore other woodwind instruments such as the flute, clarinet, oboe, and saxophone as they advance in their musical journey. Today we learned how to play B,A and G! Then we did many different rhythm exercises using those three notes on the staff. Students are very excited to learn and grow their musicianship with the recorders!
