Some Very “Sick” Third Graders!
Posted by Alyson CahillDid you know that in addition to a musical chorus, there is also such a thing as a chorus in drama? Typically done in Greek plays, a chorus is a small cluster of actors who speaks as “one voice” and performs their lines in unison, usually narrating or reflecting on the play’s action. Third grade students have been practicing this technique in drama class, and recently showed off their choral reading skills at morning assembly. Presenting the poem “Sick” by Shel Silverstein, they did a tremendous job showcasing their abilities to speak in unison, use expressive faces and voices, and memorize their lines. It was a very impressive – and comical – performance!
