100 Messages of Hope
Posted by Lisa SylvestroIf it’s cool to be kind, then our students are the coolest!
Recently, the seventh grade class, serving as Unquowa’s philanthropists for their service learning project, guided students of all ages in making messages of hope that will be delivered to cancer patients through the Norma Pfriem Breast Cancer Center. Guided by two or three seventh graders, the students had fun making cards or writing messages that will spread cheer and hope. The seventh graders also set up a fabulous table at Founder’s Day, displaying some of the messages, and giving the larger community an opportunity to participate in the mission. The class set a goal of 100 messages, in celebration of the school’s centennial; but so many more people opened their hearts and took the time to pen beautiful messages so we look forward to delivering 126 messages of hope to the Norma Pfriem Breast Cancer Center in the coming weeks!
