Drumming
Posted by Megan KirkIn today’s music class, kindergartners did a drumming activity outside on our stage. First, students all took a rhythm instrument then I asked them to watch my body and play what they thought I was asking them to play. I stamped my feet and the students drummed along with that tempo. Then I made my feet go a little faster, and they knew right away to drum a little faster. Then I began to shake my hands as I stomped my feet and the students with the bells began to shake them in time with my hands as the drummers kept the beat with my feet! Without any words being spoken we were playing some great music together! Then, each student got a turn to come up and lead the class with their bodies. A very fun and energetic way to feel the music!
