Stone Age News
Posted by Debbie LeidleinAs early humans migrated to inhabit all the continents, they evolved to become not just hunter-gatherers, but farmers and herders as well. The sixth grade explored the change and innovations which were born of a need to feed more people and a desire to stay in one place. As a culminating activity for our first unit, students in 6A created their own newsletter about the Stone Age. Working in groups, they selected topics including food, farming and technology. Students then wrote articles and found pictures to illustrate them. Article titles included “Farming Fun,” “The Latest Food Craze,” “B.C. Style” and “From Caves to Cities.”
