Girls Green Takes on King in Stamford
Posted by Marybeth LaneThe girls green team played a hard game against the Vikings on their turf yesterday. Missing six of our players, the girls green came together and held their own. It was exciting to watch everyone get a chance to shoot at the basket. Charlotte of the sixth grade made our first two shots, followed by Naia and Grace.
The girls played very good defense against the Vikings which held them to only 15 points at the end of the game. For the last two and a half minutes the Gators had a run making three baskets to bring the game closer.
In the end, we were just six points down. The girls played valiantly. In our final huddle, we all remembered the words of Alex’s eighth grade speech which embraced good sportsmanship and even though we lost, we left with our heads held high and our spirits unbeaten.
Today, we have a 4:00 home game against Greenwich Catholic.
