Boys’ White Caps Off Season with Overtime Thriller!
Posted by Lloyd MitchellBoys’ White capped off their 2014 basketball season with one of the most thrilling games of the season. Facing off against a tough St. Aloysius squad, the boys raced out to a quick 7-1 lead. Defense was critical in making key stops allowing the game to remain close into the second quarter. St. Aloysius pulled away in the second quarter with three big threes and mounted a 12 point lead going into the half.
After some tightening of the defense and fantastic ball movement, the boys stormed back and kept the game within 2 for most of the third and fourth quarter. With just a few minutes to go, eighth grader Alex hit some key threes to get the game knotted at 32. Both teams traded chances to win but neither team could put a shot in. The game went to overtime and seventh grader Jahmari and eighth grader Tyh and Alex hit some key shots to pull the team ahead. We finished with a 39-36 victory and capped off one of the best Boys’ White seasons in recent years at 8 wins and 2 losses. Outstanding play by all team members led to a solid all around season. We want to especially thank our fans that supported us on every road game and at home games.
