Wolf Stew Anyone?
Posted by Faith BarbutoIf you come to the Unquowa “woods” do not be surprised if you find a band of preschoolers with pots and dishes happily hunting for a wolf! Why? Well to make wolf stew of course! We continued to read stories of the Three Little Pigs but expanded into some with Spanish flair in homage to Hispanic Heritage month with the Three Javelinas and the Three Little Tamales. To end the week we focused on the wolf’s side of the story- and then we ate him! The kids loved making wolf stew in the kitchen with Chef Adam and this year the whole school got to try it! The Chefs parboiled some of the veggies to make it easier for little hands to chop them up and very bravely provided the wolf. Our little chefs practiced their fine motor skills and determination as they learned how to slice different types of vegetables- and of course try a few. Yum!
