Author Visit with Elise Broach
Posted by Carlene GordonThe fourth grade class did not let distance learning stop them from a fun visit with a local author. Our students were mesmerized while reading Wolf Keepers by Elise Broach. This is a story about friendship, a historical mystery and naturalist John Muir. Students not only enjoyed the twists and turns of this fictional narrative but also took the opportunity to learn more about John Muir and his work in our National Park system as well as wolf conservation efforts. Therefore, we were so excited when the author joined us for one of our recent video calls. Elise Broach spoke to our students about being an author, forming a story, collecting ideas and personal connections. We had many observations and questions to share and Ms. Broach entertained them all! The fourth graders at The Unquowa School are so grateful for her time, knowledge and generosity. Masterpiece by Elise Broach is next on our summer reading wish list!
