On the Lookout for Spring!
Posted by Maureen DialloOn a brisk Wednesday afternoon the first graders traveled to the Fairfield Audubon Center to search of signs of spring. With our spring eyes and ears turned on, the class hiked the Audubon trails in search of clues that spring has arrived! Our beautiful afternoon lent itself to record breaking discoveries for the first grade class! They found numerous salamanders, worms, turtles, and peeper frogs! Our Audubon guide, Coleen, was even able to do a call and response with an owl that was sitting in the trees above us (a first for Coleen, how exciting!). We noticed budding trees, skunk cabbage in bloom and birds building their spring nests. Spring is finally here!
