Special Visitors
Posted by Megan KirkPreK-4 performing arts students were surprised with some 8th grade visitors today! Before the PreK-4 class arrived, the 8th graders and I talked about different drama games that they could teach to the younger students. When the younger students came to class, the 8th graders began to teach! It was so wonderful to see these older students take ownership of the classroom, and the PreK-4 students were so excited to have these big kids teaching them! After class it was so interesting to talk to the 8th graders about how they felt the class went. One thing they noticed was that they had to keep up their energy in order for the little ones to stay engaged in the class. They also commented on how teaching the class was almost like performing! They had to know what they were doing and be very confident in order to keep the focus and interest of the PreK-4 students. It was a great learning experience!
