Students in third grade are working very hard on their recorder techniques and music theory. We have been learning to use the recorder as a tool to enhance our music reading skills as well as ear training. Today students had to listen to a song and then go and figure that song out on the recorder! This helps sharpen their musical ears and gives students a great sense of accomplishment when they are able to figure out a song all on their own! Since the weather was beautiful we took our recorders outside and students allowed the school grounds to inspire their music.
