Pink Pledge Success!
Posted by Holly TortoraFrom the bottom of my heart I would like to thank each and everyone of you for making our first fundraising campaign a complete success! We raised close to $1,000.00 which will be donated to the Norma Pfreim Center in Fairfield. Huge thanks to our class reps and their families for making all the details of this project come together so seamlessly. To the reps, Ms. Lauer, Mrs. Haviland, Mr. Egilman, Mrs. Jones and Mrs. Avery, thank you all for participating in the stroll and special thanks to Mrs. Slager for making sure our reps made it safely from a cross country meet in Ridgefield to downtown Fairfield by 5:30 (record time I believe!). Thank you Mrs. Haviland for providing Unquowa with the wonderful pink tee shirts and bracelets. And thank you to our Unquowa Chefs for the delicious pink cookies served at lunch on Friday. I would also like to especially acknowledge Mrs. Staikos. It was Kristin’s initial initiative about The Pledge that made this all possible. And for that I’m most grateful. I know I am not alone, that many of us had the honor of seeing friends on the stroll who have just finished this personal battle. Words cannot adequately express the emotions, but loving support and admiration I think come fairly close in capturing the moment. Again, my sincere thanks the Unquowa community for making this Pink Project a complete success!
