Today’s Assembly: Kindness Rock Garden, Class Reps and the Letter H
Posted by Karen WilliamsonThis morning’s all-school assembly drew a large crowd, for good reason! Our fifth grade class introduced us all to the The Kindness Rocks Project and invited us to visit their kindness rock garden by the lilac bushes. The second graders entertained (and impressed!) us with their 17th century inspired line dance to the song Alabama Gal. We met the newly elected Class Reps from grades 4-8 and they invited us to join them Thursday, September 29th in Fairfield center for the Stroll for Strength to kick-off the month long Pink Pledge to support the Norma Pfriem Breast Center. They also encouraged students and faculty to wear pink during Friday’s casual day. Student announcements from PreK-4 informed us that their letter of the week is H and from the eighth graders a poem about their plans for Founders’ Day on October 15. Head of School, Ms. Lauer, closed the assembly by first reading the poem “I, Too” by Langston Hughes, and then a poem written in response by fifth grader, Jack, titled “We Will.”
