Symbolic Portraits in Grade 4
Posted by Karen EngelkeGrade 4 started out the school year by working on their Symbolic Portraits. This project tapped into their artistic sensibilities asking them to use symbols to shed light on their identity. Students created nine personal symbols that relate to an event or interest in their lives. When they finished they presented their portraits to the rest of the class. Students immediately drew connections with each other as they identified with their likes and differences.
